Soap nuts offer one of the simplest, most complete swaps you can make in a laundry routine. These Organic Soap Nuts from Butter Me Up Organics are deseeded soap berries, certified organic and non-GMO, that release saponin, a plant-based surfactant, when they contact water. That saponin lifts dirt, oils, and grime from fabric without sulfates, phthalates, parabens, synthetic dyes, or synthetic fragrances.

Place 4 to 6 soap nuts in the included unbleached muslin bag per load; one 4 oz bag covers approximately 77 washes, making each load genuinely low-waste and low-effort.
Saponin produces little to no lather and leaves a faint, mild scent, which makes these soap nuts well suited for sensitive skin and baby clothing, including cloth diapers.
Each batch of nuts can be reused across multiple cycles, then composted when they turn grey and soft, closing the loop on packaging and product waste.

The nuts arrive whole and in pieces, both forms work equally well in the muslin bag. Labels are printed on recycled paper with soy-based inks, and Butter Me Up Organics ships with upcycled packaging where possible.
