Packaging
Dew Mighty's packaging is exceptionally sustainable and circular. The brand uses plastic-free, refillable containers and compostable refill packs to eliminate waste. Its primary packaging is a durable metal container (steel or aluminum alloy) designed to be purchased once and endlessly reused for product refills. These metal containers are food-safe, 100% recyclable, and 95% lighter than traditional glass bottles. For refills, products are wrapped in an FSC-certified, veggie-coated paper box printed with plant-based inks.
In shipping, the company uses only recyclable, compostable materials: glassine paper sleeves, cardboard shippers, and kraft paper tape with plant-starch adhesive.
Ingredient Sustainability
Our representative analysis showed a strong commitment to eco-friendly ingredients. All products are waterless and free of petrochemical fillers, which means no dilution with water (a resource saver) and no need for synthetic thickeners or microplastics. The formulas are composed primarily of plant-derived oils, botanical extracts, minerals, and lab-made actives that prioritize sustainability. For example, the Lucid cleanser's ingredients include rice powder, clays, and a gentle coconut-based surfactant (all biodegradable and naturally derived). The clays (kaolin and hectorite) are sustainably mined with verified safe practices (SEDEX SMETA 4-pillar audited), ensuring ethical and low-impact extraction.
Dew Mighty deliberately avoids ingredients linked to deforestation or high environmental cost; notably, the brand is 100% palm oil–free, so no palm or palm-derived materials (like common emulsifiers) are used. Many ingredients are organic, wild-harvested, or upcycled from natural byproducts. For instance, their bromelain (an enzyme in the cleanser) is extracted from pineapple waste (stem, leaf, peel), an upcycled resource.
They also use lab-created alternatives when it's more sustainable (e.g. lab-synthesized silica and allantoin to avoid destructive mining or over-harvesting of plants).
Energy Use and Footprint
By formulating waterless, solid products, the company avoids shipping heavy water weight around the globe, which massively cuts fuel use and emissions. In fact, Dew Mighty reports that its compact, concentrated products give it an approximately 95% lower carbon footprint versus traditional “water-loving” beauty companies. Every order is shipped carbon-neutral. Dew Mighty pays for integrated carbon offsetting for all deliveries. Each year the company measures its total operational emissions (from manufacturing, facilities, transportation, etc.) and offsets 100% of them, even striving to be carbon negative. In 2020 and 2021, for example, they funded the construction of a new hydroelectric plant in India as their dedicated carbon-offset project.
Waste Management
The company is focused on preventing waste at every stage of the product life cycle. In manufacturing, products are batched carefully to match demand, so they are not over-produced. Notably, Dew Mighty will even sell “imperfect” products (slight cosmetic defects that don't affect quality) rather than discarding them, ensuring that materials and energy invested in those units aren't wasted.
By insisting on no poly bags or unnecessary packaging from suppliers, Dew Mighty prevents a significant amount of waste from ever entering their facility. Internally, they strive to reduce water usage and chemical waste by avoiding water-based production (which would require preservatives and cleaning solvents). The waterless formulations inherently mean no contaminated wastewater is generated in making the products.
Business Model
From the start, the brand has kept a minimalist product range, essentially a few multi-functional products, to avoid the industry norm of constant product launches and trends. Notably, the brand refuses to participate in Black Friday discounting; in 2021 they joined a “Blue Friday” coalition to spend that time on environmental projects rather than pushing impulse sales
