Waste Mitigation - 1pt.

Manufacturing waste, resource use, and end-of-life waste are not addressed by Gala Lab Experience in any publicly available material. The brand has no published information on how it handles production waste or minimizes water pollution.Ingredient Sustainability - 10 pts.

The brand’s formulations are plant-based, natural, and biodegradable. The ingredients present in their Gala Premium Moroccan Argan Oil is 100% organic Moroccan argan oil & damask rose petal oil. Argan oil is a sustainably harvested plant oil (often produced by women’s cooperatives in Morocco) and rose oil is derived from botanical petals.

For their soaps, their formulas consist of water, saponified plant oils (olive and argan), and essential oil for fragrance. Olive and argan oils are biodegradable, farm-derived ingredients. The presence of Potassium Hydrate (likely potassium hydroxide) is necessary for saponification; though a synthetic substance, it reacts to form soap and doesn’t remain in the final product in any harmful form.

Their Gala Sun Tan Gold Elixir tanning oil relies on edible-grade plant oils (argan, almond, sesame) as the base, with beta-carotene (a pigment usually derived from carrots or produced via fermentation) and vitamin E (tocopherol) added as natural antioxidants. All listed components are biodegradable.Packaging

Gala Lab Experience seemingly uses glass bottles with droppers for oils and plastic containers for other products, accompanied by standard cardboard boxes for retail display. Gala Lab has not publicly addressed reducing plastic or implementing reusable packaging. The brand exhibits some basic sustainability (use of glass and cardboard) but no advanced packaging initiatives.

Business Model

Gala Lab has a small, curated product range that seems to be largely evergreen. As of now, the brand offers on the order of ~10 products covering hair care, body care, and oils. This limited catalog suggests focus on quality and multi-functionality over quantity. Another consideration is the product format. Gala Lab avoids single-use items (no sheet masks, no disposable wipes), which is commendable and certainly better than many conventional brands. Their products (oils, soaps, shampoos) are meant to last for multiple uses (some are even multi-purpose), indicating an effort to provide value and functionality rather than novelty.
