details:

Packaging

The brand ships products in recycled or recyclable materials (e.g. cardboard boxes and padded mailers).

Material Sustainability

Tiradia's products are made primarily from natural cork, a highly sustainable material, with some conventional synthetic components, including the inner linings on bags (65% polyester) and synthetic dyes or finishes in colored cork variants.

Energy Use and Footprint

Tiradia shows some inherent advantages in carbon footprint, but has not published comprehensive data or targets. Positively, the brand manufactures in Portugal (near the cork source) which reduces transport emissions and supports a shorter supply chain.

Furthermore, cork cultivation itself benefits the climate: cork oaks that are regularly harvested absorb 3-5 times more CO₂ during regrowth, and cork forests sequester about 5.7 tons of carbon per hectare.

Despite these upsides, Tiradia has not disclosed any specific renewable energy use, emissions tracking, or carbon offset programs. We found no public carbon footprint report.

Waste Management

The brand lacks any overt circularity programs and we found little information of waste-mitigation strategies in production.

Business Model

Tiradia's business model shows a strong commitment to sustainable consumption principles, with only limited concessions to traditional retail practices.

Tiradia does introduce new products occasionally (e.g. new colors or styles each year) and runs promotional sales during holidays or events (such as a Father's Day sale, etc.), which are normal business practices. However, these are limited and not excessive.

non-toxic

details:

Tiradia's materials appear safe for consumers, with a clear avoidance of the most harmful substances. By using natural cork as the primary material, the brand automatically sidesteps many toxins. Cork requires no toxic tanning (unlike leather) and is free from PVC or BPA-based synthetics.

The supporting materials do include some synthetics (polyester/cotton backing, possible PU-based glues or finishes), but these are generally inert in final products and comply with EU chemical safety standards (since production is in Portugal under REACH regulations).

Tiradia hasn't publicly stated that its dyes are azo-free or its adhesives solvent-free. The lack of such information suggests that while Tiradia likely avoids obvious toxic materials (PVC, formaldehyde, heavy metals) by virtue of its material choices, it may still use conventional dyes or finishes without specialized non-toxic certification.

details:

Tiradia shows a moderate commitment to fair labor practices, especially given its production context, but lacks certain formal guarantees. On the plus side, all Tiradia products are ethically handmade in Portugal, a country with relatively strong labor laws. However, we did not find a published supplier Code of Conduct or labor certification.

The brand uses no animal-derived materials whatsoever. Instead of leather, it uses cork; instead of wool or silk, it sticks to plant-based or synthetic fibers. Tiradia's mission statement explicitly says “no animals should be harmed when creating apparel.”

Tiradia engages with social and environmental causes to a moderate extent, with its strongest focus on environmental community initiatives.
