Bario Neal has implemented a comprehensive Code of Conduct that covers aspects such as legal compliance, ethics and integrity, child labor, forced or compulsory labor, health and safety, discrimination, working conditions, living wages, responsible sourcing, and environmental responsibility.
To ensure adherence to these standards, Bario Neal screens each supplier on key aspects of the Code of Conduct and assesses them on legality, anti-money laundering programs, management systems, sourcing practices, environmental performance, and other criteria. The company requests supporting evidence for the claims and responses made by suppliers, capturing this information in a standardized Provenance Profile.
However, while Bario Neal's Code of Conduct covers some International Labour Organization (ILO) Four Fundamental Freedoms principles, it is not clear if the company ensures workers are paid living wages throughout its supply chain. Greater transparency regarding labor conditions and wage standards would strengthen their commitment to social responsibility.
