Is there a fee to be evaluated?
No. The evaluation is completely free to request. There is no charge for the rating process, the published report, or the directory listing.
Can we influence our rating?
No. Evaluations are conducted independently by the Shifting Gaia team using publicly available information. Brands cannot pay for a higher score, request revisions, or suppress a published rating. This independence is what makes the rating meaningful to consumers.
What if our brand receives a low rating?
All ratings are published in our public directory. We believe transparency serves consumers and motivates brands to improve. Brands that receive a lower tier are welcome to make substantive improvements and request a re-evaluation.
How long does the evaluation take?
Typically 2-4 weeks from submission, depending on the availability of public information about the brand.
Do we need to provide samples or pay for anything?
No samples are required. The evaluation is based on publicly available information - certifications, ingredient lists, sustainability reports, supply chain disclosures, and similar documentation.
We're a small brand. Are we eligible?
Yes. Any sustainable brand is welcome to submit regardless of size. Smaller brands are evaluated with criteria appropriate to their scale - larger corporations are held to stricter standards given their greater resources and impact.
What does the shop partnership involve?
If your brand achieves a Conscious or Top Choice rating, we may invite you to list products in our shop via a dropshipping arrangement. You retain control of fulfilment. We handle the storefront, traffic, and customer experience. Specific terms are discussed directly with qualifying brands.
